Obi: I am in race to transform Nigeria

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant Peter Obi was yesterday in Lagos to canvass support for his ambition among party members.

He visited the Lagos PDP leader, Chief Bode George, who called for power shift to the opposition in 2023.

Obi said Nigeria deserved a better leadership next year, urging the people to gird their loins.

He lamented the worsening insecurity, economic dilapidation, soaring unemployment and declining quality of living.

Obi, who was accompanied by Dr. Doyin Okupe, said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has failed to fulfil its promises to the country, urging Nigerians to vote it out in next year’s poll.

George observed that Nigeria has not fared well under the leadership of APC.

He was accompanied Dr. Akintoye, Uthman Sodipe and other party chieftains.

George, former PDP Deputy National Chairman, reiterated his position on presidential zoning.

He said zoning would foster equity, justice and fairplay, adding that rotation will also ensure a sense of belonging.

Urging the party to honour zoning as the pillar of the PDP and legacy of its founding fathers, George said its neglect would have negative implications.
